Production: Model Of A Geodesic Dome
First year student of HBP requested to build a geodesic dome by using bamboo satay sticks. A website was given to support this assignment, 3V geodesic dome was my choices as a beginner with this short period of time to apply. Dimention as below:
Radius: 22 cm
Length: A- 7.6cm
B- 8.8cm
C- 9.0cm
Following will show the processes and six element to apply in this assignment.
Material to prepare:
Bamboo satay sticks ( wasn't need that huge number amount)
quite a number of bamboo sticks were rot termite, carefully pick the most
appropriate for firmly .
Plyer & ruler
For cutting and measuring purpose.
Other materials: masking tape as gluing purpose.
Coming up is the process of build-ing. Published dome was the second dome I build, first dome was SPOILED because of bad measurement and cutting, only build on top find out the mistake and can't stand firmly. As the lession of previous experience, second dome was build as shows below:
Cut bamboo sticks follow by measurement as shows above, refer the numbers of
bamboo sticks needed in desertdomes.com.

This is hexagon that build by B+C, structure C build by double sticks to prevent structure tread.

Final product, it might seen some angle because of 3V 3/8 been used.
6 element included in this assignment:
Intention: To understand how structure hold the strengh and how weight transfer through
structure.
Act : Build process as shows above as the act of this assignment. 178 students in this class hold a same assignment, but different way to carry on, so process to build it was a
critical cause it determine the final product.
Actor :The one who build it, myself. Of course desert domes's website plays a part on it, to
calculate the dimension of bamboo sticks.
Rules :Follow the dimension that specified by the calculation to get proper joint.
Place : Own room. Comfort environment to finish product.
Product : A 3V geodesic dome. Understanding the concept how structure how a building and how it holds the strengh, to transfer weight from top.
